MFA in Theatre
The School of Theatre and Film offers MFA concentrations in Theatre for Youth; Dramatic Writing; interconnected concentrations in Directing, Design, Performance, and jointly offers (with Arts, Media and Engineering) the MFA concentration in Interdisciplinary Digital Media.
In this distinct theatre practice program directing, performance and design students work together as you study your individual discipline. You collaborate on the development of new work and innovative interpretations of existing work. Students in the directing, design and performance concentrations are admitted once every three years to form this collaborative cohort.
The school has internship affiliations with numerous professional theatres and arts organizations to aid you in completing your required internship. Students pursuing the MFA concentration in Performance have the opportunity to intern with Actors Theatre, producing contemporary and thought-provoking theatre in Downtown Phoenix.
